It was hard to believe that Leighton Stultz was coming up to New England for his sixth photo shoot with me. But there he was – handsome as ever – at the US Airways terminal in Manchester with his infectious impish smile.
By his side was one of his roommates, Kennon Thompson -- no slouch in the looks department – who was along for his first photo shoot.
I've known Leighton for a little over a year, and in that time we've become good friends. Without any formalities, we immediately fell into a conversation about this trip, which would include a stay in Montreal, one of Leighton's favorite foreign destinations.
When we got home to Vermont, Leighton was met enthusiastically by our border terrier Jackson, who performed a flying leap into Leighton's arms – a move I thought might be envied by Leighton's fans. Leighton is a dog lover, and he and Jack spent some emotional time rekindling their friendship, including crawling around the floor together, barking.
Most of you have a pretty good idea of what Leighton looks like by now, but may wonder what he is like in person. The first word that comes to mind when I think of him is “genuine.” He loves to eat – Hostess donuts are a weakness; he sleeps with the television on all night.
He's the easiest person to be around I've met in a long while. Leighton has a direct, honest personality that makes you love him at once.
He is charming without trying; he loves to ask questions – about anything. So when you meet him fasten your seat belt, because some of his questions can be disarming. The main thing about Leighton, is when he leaves, you find yourself wondering when he'll be back.
The next morning we picked up our friends Gordon and Nancy, who had let us use their beautiful river and waterfall for Leighton's first Playgirl shoot.
The drive to Montreal took three hours, but seemed like a few minutes. Leighon and Kennon were talking excitedly about the clubs in Montreal, and the girls they would meet. We got stuck in a traffic jam near Montreal; each time a car with a beautiful girl inched past, Leighton and Kennon would hold up a piece of paper with their cell phone numbers written on it. Nearly every one wrote down their numbers.
I'll let Leighton and Kennon tell you how they did in the club/girl department that night; I probably don't need to say they turned heads everywhere they walked. Leighton even brought a few copies of Playgirl to autograph for his French Canadian fans.

WOW!

Yes indeed, as August ended I was really Walking on Water as I looked at Connex247 statistics one year after the new version was launched.

And I noted that while we have run more than 250 different features on the new version of Connex247, three people have been immensely popular with our visitors over the past year.

They are MIKE, Leighton Stultz and Jason Borish who have become a major part of Connex247. Each has a feature in our overall top ten on the new version of the site, and, -- Leighton as host contributes regularly, Jason brings us his fearless sports predictions and we now also feature MIKE's photography.
WOW! A year ago MIKE, Leighton and Jason had never met. Today the photos with my report are of them, and Drew who we hope to hear more about soon.

Now you see them all together in one place for the first as they met in Florida for photo shoots with MIKE who also manages to appear in these exclusive photos. MIKE, using the magic of photography actually took them.

When I told MIKE I was working on an article about stats he asked if I wanted to use some of the fun pics for a short feature, and of course I agreed.

I know that Connex247 visitors would prefer to see the studs of muscle, or maybe they are muscle studs rather than read my statistical analysis. Whatever, they arrive like a Florida thunderstorm with bolts of lightning streaking across the sky. How's that for a mixed metaphor!!!

And in August after dot com and dot net domains, the top ten countries for visitors were Mexico, Canada, Australia, Italy, Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands and the United Kingdom! Thanks for coming.
Most exciting is that in 2007 we have also introduced many incredibly popular new faces with more to come for the rest of the year! WOW!!
Let me get the business of stats out of the way. In August for the first time in its seven year history, Connex247 registered more than five million hits in one month -- more than 5.3 million to be more precise.

Michael: Jeremy, you have achieved some really outstanding success in sport -- particularly in track and field and football? Share how you first became interested in sports.
Jeremy: My father urged me to play sports at a very early age. I grew up in a small town and there wasn’t really anything else to do so i started playing them all, soccer, baseball, football and basketball. I then realized that I had the talent to play in high school and in college and went from there.
Michael: Describe some of the most thrilling moments you enjoyed as an athlete
Jeremy: HIGH SCHOOL: Being named first team all conference and on the all region team in football. State track meet in track. Playing with brady quinn was pretty fun too!
COLLEGE: All conference and being ranked 3rd and 5th in the nation at the ncaa d3 level for football. My best game was the opener of my senior season when I had 4 rushing touchdowns in one game. Qualifying and going to nationals in 3 events and breaking 4 school records.
Michael: Runners often speak of the 'natural high' that comes from it.. tell us about it from your perspective
Jeremy: Oh yes there is definitely a natural high that comes from running. I think it is even more of a high when it is done competiiively against other athletes.

After I win a race or run a personal best time I am on cloud 9 for the next 5 minutes. I usually walk around the track to catch my breath and feel like I am on top of the world.
Michael: Since we featured you on Connex247, I am sure you will have noticed some of the very complimentary remarks made in the comments section. How do you react to your obvious growing fan base.
Jeremy: To be honest, I love it! I still check the story every few days to see if any new comments have been made. They are very flattering but I think what I like the most is that it gives me more drive and determination to be successful.
Michael: You were named best dressed guy on campus by Playboy.. Tell us how this came about
Jeremy: A fellow track and field teammate in college told me about it. He gave me the link to send in the pics since it was an online contest. I stated that i wanted to be the best dressed jock on campus and sent some athletic pics and the rest is history.
Michael: And you have been in Cosmopolitan.. How did this happen
Jeremy: Once again, this was a contest as well. I just wrote in and sent some pictures and they ultimately picked me as one of their 50 sexiest bachelors in america.
Michael: You also tried out for Survivor.. Describe this experience.
Jeremy: That experience was amazing. I got to see how the show works from behind the scenes and how they pick their contestants. I made it to the final 50 but unfortunately did not get picked for the show.
Michael: Share with us your personal and professional goals for the rest of 2007
Jeremy: Professionaly i would love to have at least one more big job occur. I had cosmopolitan two years ago and playboy and an abercrombie fashion show last year. So far this year i have appeared on all american guys and connex247 and would love to have one more deal before 2008 occurs.

Personally I want to gain 5 lbs and move out on my own! I currently live with 3 guys i played football with in college and they still have one more year left. There are only a few months left on the lease so hopefully buster (my dog) and i will be in a new place soon.
Michael: We hear there may be a video inhe works...What might we expect?

MIKE P: on being 'eye candy for the masses'

Yes indeed, as one of his best friend's says, when you get to know him, you will become hooked on his soothing voice and dynamic personality, but over 25000 page views later, MIKE P also holds the record for the highest number of actual page views for one feature on the new version of Connex247.

But Danny who first saw Mike on a cam site two years ago says, "...instantly I thought to myself that this is the most handsome and best built cam guy I have ever seen. And in less than 5 minutes I became hooked on his soothing voice and dynamic personality."

From modeling to motorcycle racing, and everything in between that he pursues, Mike, who has an immense fan base admits he is confident but "not cocky" as some may think given his popularity.

"I just have a drive with everything I do. I'm a very competitive person and everything I do I always what to be the best," Mike says, as we chat away one day. "I don't take losing very well. Some may say that I'm cocky but I don't think so."

And Mike, who hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, now makes his home in Orlando, Florida, where he is launching a new career as a photographer and entrepreneur.

As we celebrate the seventh anniversary of Connex247, we wanted to acknowledge the contribution of some who have contributed immensely to our success and your decision to make Mike your choice in overall page views made it easy to decide to feature him again.

Danny: Some background, where you from?
Eddie: I was born and raised here in Stockholm Sweden, but my parents are Persian.Danny: Tell us a little about Eddie Razaz
Eddie: I am currently living in a suburb called Haninge 20 minutes outside Stockholm Still living with my parents. I'm graduating this semester, my major is music (vocals)

My high school is the best performance arts high school in Sweden. Besides music, I love clubbin, spending quality time with loved ones. Even just having a coffee in a cafe with someone you like can be fun as well.
Danny: What modeling have you done in the past?
Eddie: I haven't done any professional modeling yet, though many people have considered using me so we shall see. Also I have helped amateur photograhers with some models portfolios and pictures.
Danny: I'm surprised those photographers didn't turn the cameras toward you.

Eddie: haha thank you very much. I would love to become a model, it's a good exercize for the future. Also me and my friends often around taking pictures of each other for fun.

Danny: I'm flattered you've allowed Connex247 to present you for the first time, I'm sure this will open many new doors for you.

Eddie: I'm just happy you guys let me model for you.
Danny: What are your interests?...hobbies, , sports etc.
Eddie: I try to work out 5 times a week although school gets in the way sometimes. I love to sing and dance. I study music vocals as a high school major so thats my favorite hobby, also playing piano and writing songs.
Danny: Being young and working out you probably can eat just about anything you want. What are your favorite foods? Ethnic dishes?
Eddie: haha yeah kind of hehe. I'm just any other guy, I LOVE MCDONALDS I eat A LOT. And then I love Asian food, Indian, LOOOOOVE Persian food. I love food in all sorts lol
Danny: What really motivates you to do your best?
Eddie: Music, there is a song for every feeling, that really motivates me in life. Also nice things that fans and people say about me.

Temptation at the White House reflects American Dream

As Connex247 continues its seventh anniversary celebration, it occurred to me that we should do a feature honoring all our good friends from the United States as they mark Independence Day on July 4.

I consulted with a couple of my friends, and they suggested we feature a number of models from the USA -- something we do all the time. Anyway, my good buddy Mike expressed his confidence in me, "You will come up with something. You always do."

Well, at about four a.m. where I live in British Columbia, it struck me and I sent a text message to Bruno Serato asking him to call me as soon as possible. (It was three a.m. in Anaheim, California, where Bruno lives!)

While waiitng for Bruno to call me, I browsed through his recently released book -- "Temptation at the White House" a cookbook by Bruno Serato. But Temptation is much more than a cookbook.

In fact Bruno and all those involved with him in the project have produced a unique contribution to book publishing with a combination of autobiography of the man who came to the United States from his native Italy with very little in 1980, to photographs of undoubtedly some of the most gorgeous male models ever all together in one place (Connex247 excluded of course!!!), to photos of the incredible dishes served at the Anaheim White House restaurant, to recipes! So it is a cookbook too!

And while I will likely never try cooking from any of the recipes, much preferring to visit the White House where the service is truly incredible and the food beyond belief, including the lemon tarts that Bruno had made especially for me when he learned of my love for them when I was in California last year.

Back to July 4! Bruno reflects the good people of the United States who have strived to fulfill the American Dream and give back as the distinguished photographer Greg Gorman noted in his introduction.

"Bruno's kindness and generosity extend far beyond taking care of his numerous friends and family. His philanthropic work is really one of his life's major goals and accomplishments. Few people that I've ever know are so devoted to making the world a better place for those less privileged."

My thoughts also turned to the models who grace the pages of Bruno's book, for they too are part of the American Dream. I don't know all of them personally but as Connex247 visitors are aware, I sure know Leighton Stultz, and I had the privilege to meet Danie Yssel when both models were in Calfornia for the book shoot.

Leighton and Danie represent, to me at least, all that is good about our youth in the early years of the 21st century. Leighton comes from a military family and both his father and brother are currently serving in the US military in Iraq. Danie, who came to the United States from South Africa served in the US forces in Iraq and was gravely injured but is making a good recovery.

Notwithstanding the difficult times for Leighton and Danie, they have a spirit of optimism about them, and are among the kindest and most gracious people I have ever met. I only know the other models from the pages of Temptation, but I am sure they too are among the best of the best.

It's the beginning of a very special time of year for Connex247 and for all of us associated with it as we celebrate its seventh anniversary officially on July 16 and the launch of the new version of the site almost a year ago now.

To celebrate our 'lucky' seventh anniversary we plan to continue bringing you first person photo features on models and photographers that out vsitors have enjoyed and contributed to our steady growth over the years.

We will also be taking a look back and sharing some of our most popular stories from years gone by. Other special activities will be announced as we go along.

Let me say thank you so much for your support of Connex247, and for the wonderful comments you have made about those we feature.

I founded Connex247 seven years ago with an entirely different vision for it in mind, but that didn't work out, so here we are today, and I am delighted that we have been able to feature over 300 different models and photographers, and to let their voices be heard and their look be seen globally.

Telling you that Connex247 really took off after Leighton Stultz joined us just over a year ago would be an understatement because you, the visitors, have made his features popular each and every day, accounting for about twenty percent of our page views over the past year. As I write, Leighton currently has three features in the top ten, including the first one we did on him in May 2006!

DonnaD: Hello Derek, nice to have you with us today. Tell us something about yourself. What are your interests?
DEREK: I've been born and raised in Maine my entire life. I am in college pursing a degree in Business Administration and am striving to put myself on the road to success for my future. Being from the northeast, sports are a way of life. I'm a diehard Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan, and played my share of sports in high school as well (baseball, basketball and soccer).
I think one thing that may seperate me from others at my age is I have a daily relationship with the lord. It seems that it's somewhat rare to find that at this day and age. I believe he has truly guided me to the success and blessings I've already received and I know as I prosper as a person, I will have him to thank. On a different note, my interests are very similar to others. I'm the 'all-american' type guy who enjoys the beach, sports, working out, playing the guitar, watching the occasional comedy flick, and just doing deeds that brings enjoyment to others.
DonnaD: What made you decide to pursue modeling?
Derek: I had many people tell me that I had 'the look' that few possess. That didn't mean I was the best looking guy out there because I knew that wasn't the case, but what I did realize is I had a couple physical features that seemed to make me my own person, which may appeal to an agency.
DonnaD: What modeling agency or designer would you most like to work for? What campaigns would you like to do?
Derek: There isn't just one agency out there I would like to work with. I believe they all are unique and have their own style. I'm real interested in modeling in the fashion industry for designers such as Calvein Klein, Nautica, Abercrombie & Fitch, etc
DonnD: Would you ever pursue acting? Would you see yourself more as a serious actor or comedic? Maybe action star?
Derek: I would definitely consider acting. In fact, I already have and it's something I would be interested in. I can see myself playing a more serious role. Day to day I'm an easy-going goofy individual, but I think I would be best used in more dramatic roles.

DonnaD: How do you stay in such great shape?
Derek: The gym six days a week along with a healthy diet. Not much of a secret. If one puts in the time and energy, they're going to see results.
DonnaD: What would you consider your best feature, physical and otherwise?
Derek: I think my eyes are my best physical feature. They are a sharp and bright baby blue color, which really stands out in contrast with my darker complexion. I would say my best personality trait would be my genorsity. I get more enjoyment out of helping someone else out in need than I do bettering my own situation. It just gives me that feeling inside like I made a positive difference in someone else's life.
DonnaD: Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? 10 years from now?

Michael: Tell us a bit about your background (where from, education, etc)

Corey: I was born up in Northern Maine on a military base which has been since shut down called Loring Air Force base. My whole life has been traveling, living in places such as England,Germany, California, South Dakota, and Maine. My father served 23 years in the United States Air Force, and retired when I was 18. For the past 2 years i have resided in Southern Maine. Going to school at the University of Southern Maine to study and pursue a career in Health and Wellness.
Michael: Share how you became interested in a career as a model.

Corey: Ever since i was little, I always admired fitness models. I'd go to the gym and see people in there time in and time out busting their butts and not seeing any change from all the effort. And it makes you wonder how hard it must be to yield such results as you see in magazines like Mens Fitness.
Michael: How has your career been going so far?

Corey: My career is just starting, i'm looking to get signed with a strong fitness agency who works with some well respected magazine names.
Michael: Tell us your personal and professional goals.

Corey: My personal goal is to pusyhmyself and my body to the max. It's the only way. I'll die a happy person is knowing that I did it 100% and to the fullest of my capabilities. My professional goals are to succeed and inspire others to get in shape and increase their quality of living.
Michael: What and or who really inspires you to achieve you best?

Corey: The people who message me everyday urging me and inspiring me with their words. People who have succeeded in life already and welcome others to work towards a common goal. People who are not as fortunate as I am whether it be by upbringing, physical disabilites or anything else and can still look at life and smile, they inspire me!
Michael: Who (and why) are the greatest influences on your life?

Corey: My brother and my parents always have been the greatest influences in my life. My trainer Obie Philbrook taught me about training intensity and how to go to the gym every day with the plans to rip muscle and enjoy it. Dreamcatcher photography taught me that there are truly good people in the business of modeling.
Michael: Share some of your other interests, hobbies, sports with us.

Corey: I love to go out and party, but i also love to lift weights and play Basketball. Fishing is one of my favorite forms of relaxation.
Michael: What type of modeling do you prefer to do?

Edward: Hey Zane, welcome to Connex247 site! Share your background with us. What are your personal and professional interests?

Zane: I am in my second year of speaking at High schools.I really enjoy doing it. I can speak about things that I am very passionate about and I actually earned the rep. as the youngest speaker in the country starting right after I had turned 18. I have received great feedback from the teachers and students. Some of the teachers feedback reports saying "Excellent Rapport with Students". They didn't take their eyes or ears off of him the whole time" and "By far the best speaker we have ever had". Comments like those really give me a great sense of pride for what I do and it is very flexible, so I can always work it around my bookings and such.

Edward: Tell us about how you decided to become a model?

Zane: Well that’s actually kind of a funny story and I always think of the Zoolander Tagline when he says “I think it had to have been the 1st time I went through the second grade…and I was eating at the table one day and I caught my reflection in my spoon and I said Wow!!! You’re ridiculously good looking….maybe you should do that for a living….be professionally good looking….but how I fell into the profession was a little different…..I had always wanted to be a Navy SEAL since I could pretty much walk…and I pretty much worked my butt off my whole life getting ready for it. (Swimming with Snow on the ground running a ridiculous number of miles a week, and thousands upon thousands of dips and pushups.)

So in turn over the years I obtained a pretty mean physique out of it….but I was about 3 weeks from turning 18 and signing and my Mom sat me down one day and said that maybe I should take a year off before I make a big decision like that and see if I can find anything else that…well ya know floats my boat … and if I didn’t then I could sign my life away….so with the physique I had made for myself and the knowledge of nutrition and fitness I picked up from research and experimenting my whole life … I got my Personal Trainer Certification and found an agent and it immediately snowballed with bookings after that….It all started for me as a Swimsuit escort for Jennifer Berry (Miss America 2005) at the Miss Oklahoma pageant.

Edward: You have an incredible look. I am sure you are asked all the time, but how do you stay in such great shape?

Zane: I have an amazing diet that I follow to the “T” and I don’t really do too much weight lifting…just a lot of plyometrics.. (Pushups,dips,pull-ups) those give you the most definition by far.

Edward: Share with us who the great influences are on your life

Zane: Definitely my Mom and Dad …. Surprisingly enough my dad has encouraged me the most ….. I always kinda thought you know he would be embarrassed to tell people that his son is a Male model ….. especially being in the Midwest …. but he brags on me more than probably my mom, grandparents and my girlfriend combined.

Edward: What makes you really strive to achieve your best personally and professionally?

Zane: I would say what strives me the most it just simply being a perfectionist …Im never satisfied with the way I look ... there is always room for improvement no matter what I do….what strives me the most is meeting someone that is more defined then me, or a better actor….because after that moment I'm back to business more than ever in the gym or with an acting coach.

Edward: Tell us about some of your other interests such as sports, hobbies etc.

Zane: I love to go to the gym … probably like a majority of the people on this site….but it's not just the working out…it’s the fact that you can take a person’s body and just completely transform it from top to bottom with what you put in it…and the way you exert it….other than that I love my main job, speaking to kids at High schools about first impressions and self confidence…it is a very rewarding feeling that I could have totally redirected someone’s life with one of my lectures.

Edward: If you could choose 3 amazing places to be now, which one would you choose and why?

Zane: If I could be in 3 places it would be between San Diego, Florida, or my own private island….San Diego and Florida for the awesome year round weather and I m from San Diego. Most of all I would love my own island just to be away from all the worries and the drama you get from people 24-7.

Edward: We have some quick questions that Connex247 readers would like to know about you. Please, answer them and tell us why.

Eating: Fish or meat?I would have to choose meat over fish…because I have totally burned myself out on fish… and
Vacation: Beach or the mountains?I would definitely rather be at the beach working on my tan rather than freezing my butt off somewhere in the mountains.
Fashion campaign: clothed or underwear?Underwear….I worked hard for my physique… I might as well get to show it off.

Edward: Hey Brian, tell us about yourself. What are your personal and professional interests?

Brian: I am a recent graduate from Boston College (Honor’s Program). I was on the fast-track to becoming a doctor, but am putting that on hold to a dream of becoming a model.

Edward: Modeling career: why have you decided to be a model? Do you think it´s a tough market? What kind of sacrifices does this career demand?

Brian: Coming from a small town in NJ (just outside NYC) where every guy my age was a little twig, I felt large compared to them. Therefore, as an adolescent, I decided to start working out and eating right. I used fitness magazines and their models for inspiration. When I began noticing progress, my dream of becoming a model began. I enjoy hard workouts and treating my body right by fueling it with healthy foods.
I have been told that being 5’9” narrows my modeling career to print only. This does not discourage me, however, because I believe that someone’s presence can make them the tallest person in a room. Entering the modeling market now, I do not know how tough it will be. I know that no matter what, I owe it to myself to stay motivated until my goal of modeling is attained. With that said, I am willing to make any and all sacrifices to enter the modeling market.

Edward: What is your greatest inspiration, your greatest professional dream like a model? Which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for?

Brian: My greatest inspiration is my health. I like to work my mind by reading and writing, and to be balanced, I like to work my body out and eat right. I also don’t mind receiving compliments from others. I enjoy standing out in a crowd, hearing people describe me as “Wow!,” and being asked what I do to stay in such great shape.

I would love to become the face/body of a major fashion campaign. Being on a billboard, cover of a magazine, and all over a store is my ideal modeling dream.

Edward: Do you like to show your abilites to a huge audience?

Brian: Ok, I’ll admit it, I love attention! I love all eyes on me and being ‘the life of the party.’ P.S. Did I mention that I’m not shy at all?

Edward: How do you rate the beauty and elegance for your life? Do you think these atributes really help a person to succeed in a career?

Brian: Beauty has become something that I take pride in. I have come to love myself internally and want my outer appearance to reflect how much I take pride in my body. I find that having an attractive appearance does help a person succeed in a career. When accomplishing a task for others in a career, a clean, healthy appearance is a direct reflection of how one willnot only take pride in himself, but in his work too.

Edward: Are you a guy into sports? What is your secret to be in a good shape?

Brian: My entire life, I played football, basketball, baseball, ran track, and even did a little gymnastics. Now, I like to play these sports for fun with friends and also as an added workout. My secret to being in good shape is being consistent with my workout and diet. I find that it really doesn’t matter how hard you work in the gym, as long as you work out regularly, you will get the results that you want.

Edward: Are you an optimistic person? Do you have any dreams? How do you face the world concerning human rights, politics, cultural aspects etc. Do you think we are now living in a better world?

Brian: I am an extremely optimistic person. My dream has always been to model, so contact me, all you modeling agencies that are interested. While at Boston College, I enjoyed giving up my Spring Break to travel to Kentucky and build a home for a family in the Habitat for Humanity Program. After this experience, I joined a group on campus that travels internationally to do similar work. Through this group, I was able to travel to Belize, Central America, for about a month and build an AIDS clinic, teach a summer camp, and construct a school. The people that I have worked with in these programs are unbelievably caring and selfless individuals. We are now living in a better world because of people like them.

Edward: If you could choose to visit 3 fantastic places around the world, which places would it be? And whom would you like to invite to come with you?

Edward: Welcome to Connex247 family Carlos. It’s such a great pleasure to have you here in the site. Let’s start up with your personal interests. Tell us about yourself, hometown, etc.

Carlos: My Name is Carlos Arias, I am 21 years old and I was originally born and raised in “El Molino” (Small town in Chihuahua, Mexico). I have been doing photography for about 4 years and I enjoy every second of it!

Anything in the visual world attracts me… anything that my eyes notice is a source of new ideas for images that I want to create with my subjects and my camera. I also have a personal interest in writing and directing. I have new interests on a daily basis, my brain works in mysterious ways, so I never know what will catch my interest the following day; photography seems to be the only continuous pattern of amusement and attraction.

Edward: How did you become interested in a career as a photographer?

Carlos: My interest for photography evolved from desperation of wanting and needing to pass a class in high school in order to graduate. Ironically, photography was the only class I got a "D" in High School. My teacher Becky Sachse encouraged me to retake the class for a better grade. I think I put extra effort into it the second time around; I have yet to put my camera down. Now the world is the one grading me on my talent.

Edward: Do you think that digital era really helped the photographers concerning aspects like quality and technology?

Carlos: This is a tough question for me. As an artist I believe that the quality of a piece is judged by the tools provided when created. Some of the most amazing famous photographs were created ages ago with the most simplest of equipment; It is the talent and creativity of the photographer that makes an image, not the technology of the tools.

However, from a business perspective, digital photography is much more effective in time saving and faster delivery anywhere in the world. Anything that saves time is a wonderful thing; We humans rely on that.

Edward: In your opinion what were the most remarkable achievements in photography in the last decade?

Carlos: I must say that digital cameras and editing software are the invention that made this visual world a better place to live. Anything that cannot be composed of real life sceneries, locations, subject, looks, colors, textures, etc. is now simply a few clicks away in any computer.

I do believe that artists who developed amazing talents by digitally editing and manipulating images to perfection should have the respect they deserve. It is a different kind of art on a digital level, but not everyone can do it; it still takes patience, creativity, talent and everything else needed in any type of artistic field. All of my work is obviously digitally enhanced (not changed), it is the style that fits my taste, not everyone may be a fan of it but that is what makes this field so diverse.

Edward: What do you look most when selecting models to shoot?

Carlos: I have an obsession for perfection. It can be a “perfect” face, or body, or a pair of eyes, perhaps a smile or a great attitude. Everyone who I shoot has something so unique and beautiful that no one else does. Most of my artistic work is of the male body. I am very strict with the way they must look (body and fitness wise).

I am a perfectionist on my side of the deal; I want them to be a perfectionist on their side of the deal. It seems like a lot of work sometimes but at the end, when my clients are happy with the results and my models are happy with the way their images turned out, that is our biggest reward for our hard work and sacrifices.

Edward: I’m sure u might have some unusual/funny backstage stories. Share some of them with us?

Carlos: OH BOY, I wish I could share all of them but there are so many of them. A good experience is shooting in a lake in the middle of December… that can make your body shake in ways you didn’t know humans were capable of. I think what surprises all my new models the most and creates a funny reaction is the type of oil I use on their bodies to create the “wet” look. Pam cooking spray is my best friend for every shoot. They may think at first that I am cheap and that is all I can afford, but when they see what it does to their bodies under the correct light… then they fall in love with it too.
EYE DROPS!!! I always use eye drops to make their eyes clear before a shoot…you will be surprised of how afraid some of these guys full of muscles are of such an insignificant little drop.

Edward: What are your favorite male/female models/ what do u like most about them?

Carlos: MALES: Channing Tatum & Shemar Moore are the two most beautiful men I would shoot for days and days and days (lunch break) and days and days… I don’t even know how to describe what I like about them. I can just stare at them for hours and be ok with it. I hope that explains it.

FEMALES: Gisele Bundchen is the ultimate female model I would love to work with. Her elegance and attitude shows through her powerful eyes in every still photo taken of her. As far as her runway performance… well, she is a walking Goddess.

Edward: What advice would you give to models and to the aspiring ones?

Carlos: Over all, modeling should be seen as any other profession. Professions require time, commitment, responsibility, dedication and passion. It is not always about the look you have but also about the brain and personality attach to that face/body.

The photographer’s camera never lies, it captures everything within you… some models think that I am simply photographing their physical appearance… when in fact; I am photographing their entire essence. A positive mind will create a positive image.

Edward: There must be special moments when you feel that you have captured a perfect picture... Share this passion with us. How does this special moment happen?

Carlos: I call those my “Signature Shots”. When I bring the camera to my eye, and I realize that at that moment within the frame everything is in balance (lighting, location, subject, energy and expression) my facial expression changes instantly. The model always knows when I realized I have a signature shot. Imagine the face of a 5 year old on Christmas morning, when he realizes that the bike he has been waiting for all year is finally there next to the tree. That’s my face! It is in moments like that when I realize that I am creating something unique that will never be duplicated… even by me.

Edward: If you could select 5 fantastic places around the world for a shooting, which ones you’d choose and why?

Edward: Welcome back Massimiliano!. The Connex247 readers have been waiting for you since the last time you were here. Well, tell us the news. What have you been doing lately?

Massimiliano Neri: Hello again and thank you for the kind reception! I have been extremely busy with the opening of my 2nd restaurant in Italy, called Kukai Nibu. The restaurant is rather large and requires a lot of maintenance, not to mention all the refurbishing I had to do to get it ready. Between the two businesses, I don’t have much free time as much as I’d like, to do the things I enjoy most, namely traveling!

Edward: You told us in your last interview that you are more and more involved with your business as a restaurant owner. Which similarities and differences you see concerning managing a restaurant and managing a model career?

Massimiliano Neri: When I was a model, I did not earn as much as I am earning now, but I traveled all over the world, met incredible people and was really enjoying life. With two restaurants, I am enjoying much success and much better earnings, even though I don’t get much rest. I have to say that the biggest drawback is, I really don't have the time or the chance to enjoy life anymore. I see everyday people coming to my restaurants, going to the cinema, living a life similar to what I use to have as a model, but no longer have because of the work involved in running two restaurants. Sometimes I miss those times when life was simpler.

Edward: And talking about modeling, working all those years, I´m sure you might have some interesting/unusual/funny backstages stories to share with us?

Massimiliano Neri: No doubt about that! What comes to mind is a shoot I was doing in Amsterdam with two female models. It was a closed set, and as such, we were in a mid-sized room, no windows, equipment and cables everywhere. We were just about to start when suddenly the power went out. It was pitch black. You could not see your hand in front of your face. Everyone was stumbling around, tripping and crashing into things. The two models began to try to feel their way around in the dark. One of them thought I was a piece of equipment… not that I am complaining. Needless to say, when the lights came back on, things were looking up.

Edward: Do you think we now live in a better world concerning issues like family, religion, race and sexual behavior?

Massimiliano Neri: Unfortunately, I have to say no. Though I feel that race and religion are no longer an issue or problem, however, with regards to family and sexual behavior-- it seems that with the age of technology also came the age of exposure and the breakdown of censorship. I believe children are exposed to far too much these days, at too early of an age.

Edward: We currently live in a body-conscious society where people have a strong desire to be in good shape. How important is physical appearance toward a successful career? What other attributes make a successful person?

Massimiliano Neri: Physical appearance is very important! Mainly because it reflects how you feel about yourself and determines the way others will see you. The greater shape you are in, the better you feel about yourself. Self-image equates to self worth and confidence, and everyone knows, the greater your confidence, the greater your chances at being successful!

Edward: Female models seem to endure great pressure concerning their bodies. Some have even died of disorders like anorexia. What do u think about it? How often does this problem occur in male fashion?

Here is something we found interesting about where visitors to Connex247 come from. In checking the stats, the majority come from dot com and dot net domains, but then it's pretty amazing. In March visitors came from about 75 countries.
The top 10 in March were Canada, Mexico, Italy, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil (Edward Carl's home), United Kingdom, Malaysia and The Netherlands (the home of Dennis van den Eijk).

THE BIKE!
The bike!!! well where do i start?? I love the bike and yes as I've seen no one wants to see it go BUT sorry to say I am still selling it. I wish I didn't have to but it's an extra expense (a beautiful expense) but one i can do without. SAD but true :( But thanks for all your great comments!
THE JEEP
It was time for a different vehicle, lol, well one that treated me better and I've had an interest in Jeeps ever sense my Dad bought one a few months back. I was told I also look good in it so i guess I couldn't go wrong with a jeep, plus they are known for how long and good they run. I don't really plan on going off road that much but I like the rugged look when they are fixed up nice. Thanks to Mike who has helped me out with a body lift!! Talk about an exciting day for me. I will take pictures of me and the jeep for all visitors of Connex247 here in the next week or so.
ON MY KIND OF MOVIE
LOL a movie in general is a good idea and a goal of mine. I think any action movie that has to do with bikes is bad ass and since i like being one it would fit me well lol. I know in the movie industry things don't happen over night but I hope to get in some big films over the next few years. Jeeps on the other hand are cars you can't go wrong with and are just fun.. mostly now that it's summer time. So I myself wonder what's to come with the bike and jeep. Send me your thoughts!

ON FAKERS .. I REALLY NEED TO COMMENT
OK, fakers... I HATE.. and now even more because there becoming such a problem to deal with and so many popping up. No joke, just this week i've had to delete 4 fakers and i'm still hearing about them all the time. It's one thing to steal your pictures but then to take the identity of that person and email all their friends is crossing the line. It's just disrespectful and rude.. then you find some that do nothing but slander your name or abuse pictures they have no rights to. If you see my pictures ANYWHERE other than Connex247 or my authorized Yahoo groups chances are 90% of the websites didn't have permission and they are stolen.
ON WHO I AM & TRUE FRIENDSHIP
Speaking of this topic i want to address a matter that bothers me. As i found my pictures on a website that was using them in the worst manner i read a comment posted below my picture saying I was a "fag hater" and I had "homophobia" that I didn't deserve the fans i have because i asked them to take the pictures down BECAUSE of the misuse and slander of both my name and pictures.
Yes I'm as straight as they come but I've never treated anyone different in ANY manner, and I have made that clear before here on Connex247 and elsewhere.. I don't care what the reason is. I respect the person for who they are and what they are worth... a true friend is a TRUE friend and i would never let anything come between that.

I want to let the people who visit Connex247 and my friends and fans know that I'm here for you, whether you are 10 years old or 89 any race, sex, orientation, ETC. and i mean ETC lol. If you have a question or problem i'm not the type of guy to just let it go because I'm only here to build fame. Trust me I am here to build friendships and also a place where I can come if I run into problems.

WOW it's time for playgirl already.. I knew this day would come.. Yes i'm in Playgirl in the June issue well (in the back..just a feature of the June issue and what's to come)
From what I hear it's starting some kind of a craze and that's just of the one picture promoting the issue. I've been waiting and waiting but at the same time nervous about the outcome and what's to come but I guess will just have to see.

Edward: Hey hey hey John, welcome to Connex247 family again. It´s such a great pleasure to have u with us! The Connex247 readers have been asking about u. Well, tell us, what´s new?

John: Well, I have been doing alot of work recently with a lot of runways, including one of which was televised on MTV, and I am getting ready to shoot with some new magazines as well (fitness, fashion, and muscle.)

Edward: John, do you think you´ve already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for and why?

John: Well, I'd like to sign with Ford if anyone, but if not I think I'd be happy continuing on the road I'm on now. I haven't come close to achomplishing what I have planned for the future but I hope that one day i will be an inspiration to those with similar dreams.

Edward: I´m sure you might have some unusual/funny modeling backstages stories. Share some of them with us

John: Some are a little too personal but if I were to share one; I was in a room that I was unaware was double pained glass and I began changing with A LOT of people on the other side watching lol

Edward: What do you most like when you work with a photographer? What are the main characteristics u most admire in this professional?

John: Someone that respects my boundaries, try to keep a conversation and keep the model interested in you because we are trying to do just that for you.

Edward: Are you a fashion guy? What do you like to wear when you are not working as a model?

John: I am a t shirt and jeans guy... if you don't like it, then don't bother looking. whether it's an interview or a rehearsal I am and always will be a jeans and t type of guy!

Edward: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Michael: You balance a career as a successful model with your other work... share with us how you do it

Dennis: As a military police officer/ swat-team member, I also travel a lot over the world. I pick up and bring back criminals from and to my country. I get a lot of extra hours And when my model management calls me for a job, I can easily take some days off.
Also I combine the 2 jobs. Recently, I was in Portugal for special police work and I also did there a casting at ELITE-MODELS... They liked me a lot and now I am in their agency also!

Michael: You are planning a trip to North America.. are you excited... share your plans with us.

Dennis: OH MY GOD!!! I am too excited! Can't wait to see some of my new good friends there! And I hope O can do something for my fans! But the plans are also to have a lot of fun there!

Michael: What really inspires you to acheive your best personally and professionally?

Dennis:
- Professionally: When I do something I try to be the best at it! Otherwise it is a waste of your time! I just want to live my life to the fullest!
- Personally (My best friend that died 2 years ago): If I want to do something, I do it right away! Life is too SHORT!!!

Michael: Who are the great influences on your life ? Why?

Dennis: The people who believe in me and share that with me, they have the biggest influences on my life. I live this wonderful life because I get a lot of support from people all over the world!

Michael: You love to travel.. share three of your favorite places with us.

Dennis:
- SURINAM ( Paramaribo) The South american warmth of the weather and the people there! And they all speak DUTCH!
- US (New York) I was there for 3 days, and I saw everything, From top of the rocks to ground zero. It was impressive! Also the dancing and fun part was great there!!!
- The Netherlands (Amsterdam) My Home town.... I love the freedom in this country and Amsterdam is the place to be to see a lot of different races and beautiful people!

Michael: Give us an update on your activities....

Krag: Currently I am rushing to finish my degree is Civil Engineering while doing some modeling in between. I have a calender for 2007 that I am in which will be coming out in a few weeks. The shoot was in Jamaica! I haven't done any traveling in the past few weeks and it actually feels good to have a break.

I have been so focused on getting done with school and with my future in the entertainment industry that I can say I am in the best condition I have ever been in my life. Haven't missed a beat in over a month with the diet, gym, or school. I have picked up playing hockey again. I was off the ice for a long time and it feels good to be back. The sport was a major factor in who I am today.

Michael: Future plans for modeling and acting?

Krag: As far as my plans go, I have been meeting people and setting up dates for jobs to come up. I have learned that this industry is pretty hard to predict because things change so much and you never know 100% if you are going to a modeling or acting job until you see an itinerary:) I have a few big things for my career coming up and I will let you know what they are AFTER they happen!

For all of you who are just meeting Krag Hopps, here are some of his comments from a earlier feature when we first met him earlier in 2006. And Krag is one of the top ten most popular people we have featured in 2006 and he is now in the semi finals of the Connex247 Hottest Guy on the Planet contest.

Michael: Tell us a bit about your background.

Krag: I grew up in Flint, MI. Started to play hockey at the age of 9. My mother passed when I was 10 and I had to grow my Bro up who is 2 yrs younger than me. The reason I say I had to grow him up is because my dad's job kept him away from home for 3 to 4 weeks at a time and couldn't really pay for a babysitter due to hockey. So, I had to behave and stay focused in all the right things. Although I did live in one of the worst places in the US and a huge party city, I still kept my nose clean and had lots of fun doing so. Now, I am doing modeling full time and finishing my last year of college, for engineering, in 1 year.

Michael: Share some of the highlights of your life as a model.

Krag: Meeting so many people is the best part!!! As far as fun goes, going to Florida and hanging out with All American Guys owners.

Michael: You are involved in hockey. Tell us about you and hockey...and any other sports!

Krag: I boxed for a while as well as playing hockey. Hockey was my main sport. I was going to play DI once I hit college but instead, I went to Australia for 6 months to have fun and go to college with 5 of my friends. Michael: Describe your personal and professional goals.

Krag: Personal and professional goal would to be in T.V. shows or movies. As a civil engineer, I want to buy my own land and develop it from the woods to a neighborhood.

Michael: What really inspires you to achieve your best?

Krag: Helping my dad retire because he fell so far behind when my mother was sick. He took 2 years off of work, raising 3 kids, to be with her because he knew she was gonna go. Now, he is still not in the shape to retire 12 years later.Michael: Who are the great influences in your life?

Edward: Hello Maurice, welcome to Connex family!. Let´s start our interview with your personal and professional interests. Tell us: how do u describe yourself.
Maurice: The best way to describe me is very laid back but at the same time always hustlin to try to get to the next level of what ever it is im trying to succeed in. I have always been athletic my whole life and very competative. I think that is why i will be able to make it in what ever im doing in my life time.
Edward: Why have you decided to be a model? How this vocation arose? Is it a tough career? What kind of sacrifices this career demands?
Maurice: Actually i really never thought of being a model. I have always wanted to be a professional athlete. But things happened that down the road that changed my path. My ex girl friend is the main reason i got into modeling. I went with her a few times to her agency and everytime I showed up with her they would always ask me to work with them. I turned them down a few times because I was playing football at the time. After I was done with football I thought to myself hey it would be kind of fun to be a model.
I showed up to the agency again and told them I was ready and from there on out I started to work with Nike and adidas in portland. One day in portland I was approched on the street by NBC and they asked me to try out for the T.V. show Manhunt "The search for America's most gorgeous male Model" Placed third on the show signed with IMG new York and became an even more succcessful and now am currently on the Janice Dickinson Model agency. So I was very lucky that modeling found me.
It can definitely be tough at sometimes but you just got to keep on pushing just as any job can be. But for the most part I really enjoy it because I get to travel around a lot and meet new people.
One of my biggest sacrifices for modeling would have to be my love for sports. Even though I still play basketball a lot I really do miss playing football. Actually I have been talking to an agent about going to a NFL combine and might get back into it. But I will still def keep on modeling.
Edward: How would you rate importance of beauty and elegance in your life? Do u think beauty really helps a person to be well succeeded in a career?
Maurice: I think beauty is important on the outside as well as inside. I have seen many beautiful people in my life that could easily be models but surprisingly not all of them are beautiful on the inside. Looks will def help you out in the world weather you modeling, acting, singing, dancing, or trying to persue your dream job. But if your ugly in the inside it will def show and very much make you look ugly on the outside.
Edward: What is your greatest inspiration, your greatest professional dream like a model? Which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers u´d like to work for?
Maurice: My greatest inspiration in my life is easily my mother. She raised both me and my younger brother without a father figure and did a damn good job at it. I also look up to my uncle jo jo Townsell. He was a member of the NY Jets and was a success on the team. He really helped me to have that drive in life.
If I could get to the level of Tyson Beckford in my modeling career I would feel like I was successful in this career. I'm trying to bring that back. Just being in this industry I see a lot of male and female models that are really really skinny. Some just are which is fine. Some try really hard too which I hate to see because they just don't seem happy. That's one of the main reasons I like what Tyson was in the industry. I know I will never try to get skinny I'm satified with the way I am now. I mean if I have to grow my hair out or something like that ill do it. But losing weight is a negative for me. As long as I look in shape im happy.
I love the agencies that I am currently represented by. As far as designers I would love to work with Calvin Klein, Sean John, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Donna Karen, Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Nike, Adidas, Enyce, Ecko. I have already worked for a few of the designers but love them all.
Edward: Family, friendship and human rights: how do think the world is dealing with these two subjects in the society we live?
Maurice: Wow that is a tough question. You know I used to be a direct sales person and I have spoken to many many many people. Todays time is just so different. Poeple are so different where ever I go. Life styles, ethics, rules, discipline. I could talk about this topic for a long time. If I were to get into it I would have probably wrote a novel lol.
Edward: Are you a guy into sports? What do you like to do in your free time?

Edward: Welcome to Connex247 family Demetrius. It´s really nice to have you with us. What are your personal and professional interests?
Demetrius: I'm am currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I am a double major in Psychology and Marketing... Modeling has always been a dream of mine and now that school is winding down I feel like I'm actually able to attempt to make my dream come true. Ive always stayed very active and have been playing sports, mainly volleyball, swimming and diving, my whole life.
Edward: Tell us about how you decided to become a model? What do you think about modeling world?
Demetrius: I had been told by a lot of my friends, some of them models themselves, that I had a great look and they thought I could do it. I decided to become a model after I posted my myspace profile. I got a lot of amazing feedback on just simply my candid everyday pictures and some amazing photographers took notice and took a chance on me, not only showing me the ropes but giving me some amazing networking opportunities.

I just fell in love with how I felt in front of the camera as well as being able to see the results of how hard I worked both in front and behind the camera. Now I feel like I have a close relationship with them and it's great that I have so much fun working with them.
Edward: Tell us about some of your modeling assignments. Which fashion designers you would like to work for and why?
Demetrius: I've mainly done some artistic nudes and some editorial work as well as my initial high fashion shots for my portfolio... I would really love to break in to the high fashion world. My dream job would to ultimately work for Dolce & Gabana.
Edward: How do you rate beauty and elegance in your life? Do you think these attributes really help a person to be well succeeded a career?
Demetrius: I don't think beauty is a very high priority in my life, however with that said I do take very good care of myself. I feel as though when i feel groomed and well taken care of on the outside i feel so much better and carry myself with a lot more confidence. Elegance is pretty important to me as well. I was raised in a VERY open, loving and respectful environment. I'm very close to my family and I owe everything I am today to them.
Being physically attractive can only get you so far. Someone with the most beautiful face could have a completely ugly personality and no one will want to work with them. Being personable is every bit as important as having a look in this industry. You cant just walk in and think that this business owes you something, because it doesn't.
Edward: Are you a fashion guy? What do you like to wear when u are not working as a model?
Demetrius: HAHA, I like this question... I consider myself a fashion guy. Not because of what I wear, but how I wear it. I have a really clean cut style... I love to wear a pair of jeans mainly, some are destroyed others are classic, depends on what I'm wearing with it. I also like to rock a classic pair of cargo pants. I guess my style could best be described as Southern California meets the Midwest.

I love the southern Cali style but with me being from the mid-west I tend to take that style and tone it down slightly. Love to wear button up shirts as well as some fashionable vintage t-shirts. For dressy occasions I've never really found myself to be a tie guy. I love to wear a classic zip up sweater and a pair of clean cut slacks.
Edward: What are the great influences on your life?
Demetrius: I'd be completely lying if I didn't say my parents. My Mother is the strongest woman I know. I know that's very cliche' but it's the truth. My Dad has gone through a lot in the past year and I can only pray that I come out with as great an attitude as he has after everything. This may sound a little weird, but my fashion icon is actually Enrique Iglesias... I just love his sense of style.
Edward: Friendship, love and human rights. Do you think we now live in a better world concerning these issues?
Demetrius: As far as friendship goes, we do live in a great world. People are a lot more open to becoming friends with all different kinds of people that they normally wouldn't have in the past. I think this mind set ends up happening after someone goes through their college years.
About love... I think we live in a generally loving world. We get to see mainly ugly stuff on the news, but every so often you get to hear an uplifting story and I try to generally think positive about the world... With that said, I am actually very defensive when it comes to my own heart. Ive been hurt a few times in my past and it has made me a little hard around the edges, but I feel it's for the best.
Human rights... Those who don't learn from the history are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. I feel by passing constitutional amendments to deny gay people the right to marry we are repeating those mistakes. The US constitution was designed to protect the right of all US citizens and keep all men and women equal. I don't believe this is right by any means.
Edward:. If u could choose 5 most important things for your which ones u´d choose and why?

In everything he undertakes, Mike drives himself to be nothing but the best of the best! This time, Mike, who hails from Winnipeg, Canada, but is now in Florida, is working on two major projects, with videos in the works.

He has started to pursue a career as a photographer and has also launched a new web site with some of his good buddies. It is www.musclestudcam.com

Connex247 will soon chat with Mike about his developing career as a photographer. We have seen some of his work and it is really great! And Jason Borish tell us that he is having talks with Mike about the possibility of shooting some videos in which they star early in 2007. Stay tuned on that one.
Mike says he just has a tremendous drive to succeed with everything he does, and he devotes countless hours to working on the web site and with the other models and bodybuilders who have joined him in the venture. "I'm a competitive person and so are the guys who are featured on the site. Mike also pursues his modeling career and has done several photo shoots in 2006. Look for more of him. "Mike is eye candy for the masses, no doubt about it", one fan wrote. "His powerful look, strength and beauty make anyone stop and take notice." Although Mike acknowledges the compliment with an "LOL", he is quick to pay tribute to others.
"The guys are just great, not only in terms of their appeal to those who like great looking bodies, but they have awesome personalities to go with it. During their web cam shows they develop a real friendly relationship with their fans," Mike says. Mike appears on the site at least three times a week as the host, and is almost constantly working on the production of more videos, and photo galleries for the members' section. Danny, another fan recently posted to Mike's Yahoo group: "I am being honest when I say this is my favorite site on the net. The chat sessions are out of this world! It's amazing how FAST the one hour chats fly by! Not only are they super HOT but with the member participation I am always laughing... Mike is absolutely the MUSCLE GOD, but beware Mikee, Kory is right on your ass, lol! During the Kory chats his roommate Stevo will drop in and show off... Man, I love it there." Along with Mike, regulars on http://www.musclestudcam.com are Jake, who Connex 247 visitors know well, Kory, Wayne and Nick, but very often a guest is featured. Edward: Hello Ben, welcome to Connex247 site. Let´s start our interview with you personal and professional interests. Tell us: how do u describe yourself?

Ben: Hi, I would describe myself as driven and motivated yet at times relaxed; Im a passionate person when I find something that truly interests me and gains my attention; I set goals and targets that are short-term and long-term and always have something in the up and coming future that I look forward to, which generally means I try and stay busy even if it's just simple things like setting time to go for a work out or pick up some food shopping!

Edward: Why u have decided to be a model? How this vocation arose? Is it a tough career? What kind of sacrifices this career demands?

Ben: I kind of walked into modelling after starting Loughborough University and joining a gym for the first time in my life; I worked out a lot and built up my physique with dedication and discipline involving weights and good diet; I was advised by connex's own Ross Edgley on how to pursue a career as he had already started his own; So far I have had to juggle modelling with my university work but it is true what they say that if you want something done, give it to a busy person! I'm in my final year of university now and hope to focus more on modelling after this year; I havent had to many sacrifices, only that I have to keep going to the gym and not eat junk food or drink alcohol too excessively!!

Edward: What is your greatest inspiration, your greatest professional dream as a model?

Ben: I have appeared in the last three months of Men's Health magazine but my dream would be to be on the front cover and that goal keeps me motivated to keep doing what im doing; I'm currently with some great agencies and am really happy with the way things are going.

Edward: Are you a guy into sports? What´s your secret to be in a good shape?

Ben: I love sports and play a huge variety of them, I have played Hockey and more recently Rugby Union for Loughborough University, as well as athletics, water polo, cricket;cross country for my college; I put my results in working out down to discipline and knowledge in the gym, combined with good diet and supplementation; I don' have any surprise diet, just high protein and low fat. So sorry no miracle diet for anyone there!

Edward: We currently live in a body-conscious society where people have a;strong desire to be in good shape. How important is physical appearance toward a successful career?

Ben: In my career so far it has been paramount as i have focused on fitness modelling, and even though i would like to continue towards fashion based work being in great shape is equally as important due to the large amount of extremely good competition in modelling.

Edward: And you also write about fitness and nutrition in a site

Ben: I have articles on http://www.lamuscle.com/ can access them through my profile on there or through the la muscle library; It is something; I have a great interest in as i enjoy telling people about how to get the results;they want by sharing the knowledge i have gained through going to the gym and learning off others and reading books and internet articles

Michael: Give us highlights of your recent visit to Los Angeles.

Daniel: I got a high-fashion shoot for Crave Magazine, with photographer Jerris Madison. It was great fun doing something complety different from my regular underwear modeling. I met up with a huge team of make-up artists, models and stylists so it was really cool experience.
I have been working with a great team of photographers, all with very different styles and photography. I have been doing shoots up in the mountains, in the middle of the streets in downtown la., studios and beautiful park gardens.

Michael: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Felix: I love playing hockey, working out and I dedicate a lot of time to just that, its like a part time job eating healthy and gettin in the gym. I also love just hangin with family and good friends. I have just recently become interested in modeling and I am toying with my options on how far i want to see and take it... sky is the limit so we'll see:)

Michael: How do you stay in such fantastic shape?

Felix: lol I have no secret cause I really do bust my a** in the gym and i try to get as much knowledge on training as I can from anywhere, magazines, people, the internet.

Michael: What are your personal and professional goals at the moment?

Felix: I would like to go back to school and get my degree. I would have to say hrmmm tough one... I don't know. I would like to be on the cover of a fitness or modeling magazine some day.

Michael: Who really inspires you to do your best?

Felix: My family I would have to say motivates me to do well, also a few friends I have who have motivated me to begin my modeling. They have really helped me in a lot of ways so when you succeed with something and you are in the spot light you always have to remember the people who helped you get there and stuck with you, and its always your fam and friends.

Michael: Tell us about your chats and life as web star

Felix: lol Well thats too easy, expect the best, lol no I am just messing around, um I dunno i have a lot of sweet pics i shot with Mike from msc in a upcoming gallery,(hes a kick ass photographer by the way). In thenext few weeks after my knee heels I will be making some serious lifting vids of me, to show a lil taste of how a gym session with Felix is. Then last but not least PCHATS, I am on usually later in the evening until the wee hours of the morning, lol but over the next few weeks you may expect to see even more of me while my knee is healing I may be stranded at home

Michael: How important are fans to you?

At Connex247, I've realized for years that the response to articles is often not the one expected. When Leighton Stultz asked me if we could run a feature about his efforts to find a purchaser for his bike, of course I agreed. "Let's see what happens," I told Leighton.

Well, it happened all right, but while so far we haven't received any email from potential buyers, Connex247 did make Leighton's sales pitch the number one in page views, with requests that we run more photos of Leighton and his bike!

So, here I am updating you on Leighton and the bike, so that we can bring you more photos ... taken especially in response to numerous requests for them. And, of course, make another pitch for Leighton.

To get the pictures with this story we recruited Kennon, Leighton's good buddy, who agreed to do the job for us. The setting is not the usual one for a photo shoot, but we got the job done quickly. Thanks Kennon!

Michael: Tell us about your background... where from education etc.

Kevin: I was born in Illinois, but lived a good portion of my life in the south, Greensboro, North Carolina. A few years ago I moved east to Wilmington, NC to go to college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Wilmington is a great place for me right now in my life. It's a medium size town that has an awesome beach scene as well as a bustling downtown. Currently I am pursuing degrees in Marketing and Finance with a minor in Leadership studies.

Michael: What prompted you to follow a career as a model?

Kevin: I really never thought about modeling until about a year and a half ago when a few of my friends told me I should try it out. When I was on a trip to Hawaii I had a friend take a few photos of me and I sent them to a few photographers and an agency. I got a lot of positive feedback and next thing I knew things were starting to get big. In the summer of 2006 I felt that I could take the experience I have from modeling as well as from being a personal trainer and translate this into a fitness and fun-oriented website. It's called

Michael: Give us the secret to how you stay in such fantastic shape.

Kevin: Sticking to the goals I set for myself allows me to stay in good shape. Every few months I evaluate where I am in regards to the shape I am in and I set goals for where I want to be in the next few months. I've found that having goals motivates me to get to the gym. I make sure I never miss a workout as I am in the gym doing weight training 5-6 times a week and do cardio 3-4 days a week. I like to have a good balance between strength and being cut so I keep most of my reps in the 8-12 rep range and make sure I never sell myself short on any of my workouts.

I also eat very healthy year around. I believe in a cheat meal once a week because this allows you to stick to a healthy diet better by being flexible, but by eating healthy yet often(6+ small meals a day) it helps me stay lean all the time.

Michael: What really inspires you to achieve your best?

Kevin: I find that I am at my happiest when I am in shape. When I don't get to the gym it just doesn't feel right. I want to be the best at what I do and hopefully by working so hard and putting in the hours in the gym this can translate to an even better modeling career and even more success with FitnessHunk. My fans also drive me to succeed and all their compliments are highly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Michael: Who are the greatest influences in your life.. Why?

Kevin: The greatest influences in my life are by far my parents. They raised me into the person I am today and their love and guidance over the years has been amazing.

Michael: Share your personal and professional goals with us.

Kevin: My personal and professional goals are to keep striving to be the best I can be at everything I do. I am looking forward to graduating college in a year or so and want to relocate to either NYC, Florida, or California to further pursue my modeling career and possibly get into acting. Down the road I also look forward to using my degrees to their full potential and would love to have a sports marketing job.

Michael: How has your career been going so far?

Kevin: My career has been going great. Its always hard getting a ton of work because I am located in North Carolina, but I am trying to get up to NYC as much as possible and look forward to really getting things going even more over the summer when I have a break from school.

Edward: Hey guys, welcome to Connex247 family!. I think it´s the first time I´m interviewing twin brothers. So, tell us about your personal and professional interests?

The Barbera Twins: We are personally involved with a lot of real estate. We are developing our own subdivision called Sweetwater Estates which consists of 75 1 acre lots. We also build custom homes. We love to workout, go out for dinners and travel.

Edward: You have perfect shaped bodies. What are your secret to maintain a nice body like yours? Do you guys have any special diet? What´s the part of your body you like most and why?

The Twins: We think the secret is to stay on top of it don’t let it get to out of hand. Continue to do cardio and keep workout heavy with a lot of weight. As far as a diet we don’t have a specific one that we follow but we do watch our calorie intake.

Edward: Are you guys into sports?

The Twins: We used to wrestle in college but now we just kind of stick with the weightlifting and running a lot. We do like all sports.

Edward: As twin brothers, I´m sure you might have some funny stories about that. Share with us some of these moments.

The Twins: We used to switch in our accounting and chemistry class. Joe was better at accounting than I was. Some fun things that we did do as twins was magic tricks when one of us disappears and the other pops on the other side of the room. That was cool..

Edward: Hello Jeff, welcome to Connex247 family. Well, just to start it up, tell us about yourself. What are your personal and professional interests?

Jeffrey: Well, I like to write fitness blogs using my own style of comedy on my website. I love to make video clips too! I made/produced my own workout DVD over the summer and I really enjoyed that! I’m finishing up my college degree at the University of Utah in Exercise Science. I enjoy personal training as a professional interest as well as modeling. I like to let my personality shine through when I am doing a photo shoot! I like to use a variety of different expressions and do crazy pictures! I don’t always have to have the sexy look in my photos!

Edward: What would you say is the key of the success? In your opinion, what are the upside and downside of a modeling career?

Jeffrey: The key to success through my eyes is being able to look at myself in the mirror at the end of the day and say I am happy, regardless of how much money I make. My dad is an auto mechanic who doesn’t make a lot of money, but he is the most successful man I know because I never once saw him come home without a smile on his face.
The upside to modeling is it’s fun if you are into it. You get to meet a lot of interesting people and see beautiful places that I otherwise would not have been able to without modeling. The downside is that there are a lot of sharks in the water and you have to be careful with whom you work with. It’s also very demanding! You need to be in great shape all the time, but I like to work out so it really isn’t that big of a deal!

Edward: Do you think you have already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for?

Jeffrey: I haven’t quite achieved everything that I have set out to do in the modeling market. I would like to work with Calvin Klein someday (even though I do spoofs about it on my website!) and various other underwear companies. I want to be on the cover of Muscle and Fitness too. I wouldn’t mind doing a high fashion show or photo shoot, but I think I am too short and too muscular for that! I want to have a fitness show someday. As far as agencies go, I’m not hung up on any.

Edward: I´m sure you might have some funny/unusual model backstages stories. Share with us some of these moments.

Jeffrey: When I was on a photo shoot in San Diego a few years ago, there were a couple of photographers working in this little studio that they rented by the docks with a couple of models doing nudes. I had just finished my job and I was waiting outside with everybody else. I guess there was a family reunion going on in one of the other places by the studio. I saw two older women walking around like they didn’t know where to go. They ended up walking into the studio where the photographers and models were. I immediately started laughing when I saw them run out of the studio with their eyes covered! I wish I could have seen the looks on their faces when they saw those naked models! I wish I could have seen the looks on the models’ faces too! I gave the two models a hard time the rest of the weekend! I’m a stickler for good comedy and that was the ultimate!

Edward: Are you a fashion guy? What do you usually like to wear when you are not working?

Edward: Hello Nick, welcome to Connex247 family. Well, this is your place buddy! Tell us about yourself, hometown.. How do u describe yourself?

Nick: Hey guys my name is Nick Wolanski, I am 20 years old and come from sunny SCOTLAND,Ha Ha. I am a bodybuilder and martial artist, I spent my first 6 weeks in Los Angeles recently trying my hand at modelling.

Edward: What do you think about modeling world? Why did you decide to become a model?

Nick: I think the modelling world is a very difficult one. There are a lot of empty promises from people looking to make quick money and if your not on your toes then it can get frustrating and disappointing. However with the right help and a clever head it's incredibly fun and rewarding. I decided to model after my friends and family suggested it as I have developed quite a good physique over the years and it seemed to make sense.

Edward: I´m sure you might have some interesting/unusual/funny backstages stories to share with us...

Nick: I competed in a bodybuilding competition and a couple of guys were drinking whisky backstage to help bring out their vascularity, they drank a bit too much and ended up fighting on stage, was pretty funny.

Edward: How would you rate importance of beauty and elegance in your life? Do you think beauty really helps a person to be well succeded in a career?

Nick: Like to look after my body and my health as it makes me feel really good. Im very sporty and competitive so I really enjoy pushing my body and seeing what I'm made of! Obviously a good body is crucial in fitness modelling but you also need to show respect for people and try to be friendly and honest as it will really help further a career. Get a good education as well as modelling does not last forever!

Edward: Are you a fashion guy? What do you like to wear when you are not working?

Nick: Yeah I suppose I like nice clothes. It helps create an image which is crucial in this world. I like hugo boss and Armani as the designs are superb as is the quality. When I aint going out I like to kick back in a comfy pair of combats and a t shirt.

Edward: If you could choose 3 important things for your life and 3 fascinating places around the world to visit now, what would u choose and why?

Nick: The three important things in my life are my friends and family, my health and of course I want to land that big modelling job. My friends are very important as they give me a lot of encouragement and are there when things get tough. I'd like to land that big job so all of my hard work and efforts are rewarded. I'd like to travel to the Bahamas, Thailand and Du Bai as they are all strikingly beautiful places with lots to see and do.

Edward: Are you a guy into sports? What is your secret to be in a good shape? What´s the part of your body you like most and why?

Edward: Welcome to Connex family Joseph Sayers! So, let´s start our interview... How do you describe yourself. Tell us about your hometown...

Joseph: My hometown is a very simple but beautiful place. It's a typical American suburb. I think that Lakewood is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. There's a little bit of everything. Skiing country is a short drive away, it rests right on Chautauqua Lake, there are wineries, festivals, etc. It has a small population, so everyone is atleast acquaintances no matter the age range. Maybe I'm partial to it's atmosphere since I'm from there but it is quiet yet functional.
How would I describe myself? I don't know if I could do a good job doing that. I believe that would be a better question for someone who is a close friend. I'd describe myself as a young man with an old soul. I occassionally make a poor and impulsive decision BUT I'm usually very contemplative and very goal-oriented. I'm silently creative (because I'm embarassed of my definition of "creativity") and I am ambitious to show off that side of me but there isn't enough time in any single lifetime to complete every creative thought that I have, so instead I let the artists (like my friend, Joe Oppedisano) take care of capturing art while I do my very best to be the medium to which that same are it created.

Edward: How did you start your modeling career? What do you think about the Modeling world? Is it a tough and competitive market?

Joseph: This question has a few parts. I refuse to neglect credit where credit is due, like Hudson Wright and Patrick Lee, nor Adam Silver who first signed me with Strengthnet Models (now Silver Models), as they were the first industry professionals that I worked with VERY early in my modeling career, but I'd have to say that my CAREER began when I made a call from Vancouver to Jason Kanner at Major Model Management in late May of 2002 and committed to be under their representation in NYC.

I would have to say the other part of that question is I began TO MODEL when I flew down to Miami in early February and shot Abercrombie with Bruce Weber. In all honestly, I had no intentions to persue modeling any further than that, but the fact that I very much enjoy proving people wrong gave me enough incentive to persue it as a career and attempt to crack the mold of the stereotypical 6-foot-tall male model.

Edward: How do you rate beauty and elegance for your life. Do you think these attributes really help a person to be well succeed in a career?
Joseph: I value beauty. I don't know if I value elegance. I know that I have bad taste for interior designing and I can barely dress myself, but I like order. I like things to be neat... which is ironic since my apartment is an absolute mess right now. I honestly don't think that having an appreciation for beauty helped me in modeling or not. I wear a t-shirt and jeans. In the summer it gets so hot that I walk around with sweat stains around my collar and under my arms. It's hot and there isn't anything that I can do about. I'm a sweater and I know it. I think that the fact that I'm comfortable with that I was given helps me the most. I can't change my height. I can't change my taste in food. Instead, I make the best of what I have and luckily I've found out that some people appreciate that about me.

Edward: As a model do you think you have already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for?
Joseph: I feel that I've done enough to make a lot of people eat their words. I would love to be under contract with Calvin Klein or at least land one of their campaigns. Money is not the issue, I want it for the prestige. Honestly, I'm perfectly content with how things are going. I don't mind dropping over my friends' apartments (Joe Oppedisano, Hudson Wright, etc.) and shooting a few pictures. I would like to see more of their work out there ahead of seeing myself out there. Of course the best case scenario is seeing more of their work out there... with me being featured in that very same work.

Edward: Yo have worked for the most famous photographers and fashion campaigns in USA and abroad too....Tell us more.

Joseph: Well, I don't know what there is to tell except that I am always pinned up or clamped. The clothes never fit me, so the on site stylist improvise and use safety pins and clamps to make the clothes fit. I'd have to say that I'm usually wearing about five pounds of clothing and about five pounds of pins, clamps, and clips. This would explain why I hardly wear very much clothing in photo shoots. I'd have to say that with the metal that they use to secure the clothing on me, we'd end up bankrupting the steel/metal industry in Pittsburgh.
Photographers... I don't want to say anything bad or awkward about anyone so I'll give you a few tid bits... Tony Duran is the fastest photographer that I've ever worked with. He shoots more roles without an assistant than any photographer that I've seen with a team of assistants. Bruce Weber will hold his camera at his chin/chest level and stare at you until something (anything) happens and he absolutely has to lift it and capture it.
Steven Klein takes his time and makes sure that everything is perfect before shooting. It's a whole production but his work says it all. He usually shows up about two hours before he plans on shooting and one of his assistants is toting a cooler of bohemian style beer. I think that it relaxes everyone to throw back a brew before shooting. Joe Oppedisano is the dearest person I know. He makes you feel so comfortable. He cracks jokes and wiggles on the floor like a worm to capture the perfect angle. Obviously all that wiggling pays off because he gets the shot and stays in great shape. Watching Richard Phibbs photograph is like going to the circus. He is this... I think he's about 6'3" mountain of man and muscle. He slides and glides and angles like Neo from the Matrix. It's quite entertaining.

Edward: What do you most like when you work with this professional? What are the main characteristics you most admire in a photographer?

Joseph: Efficiency. I don't like to spend an entire day to capture one shot. I also appreciate a photograph that has respect for you and your own life, schedule, and interests/needs. I don't like sitting still for very long. I hate being told to "hold it" for minutes on end. I appreciate a photographer who lets me be me and act goofy. I admire a photograph who doesn't jeopardize his artistic integrity.

Matus: Hello everyone, my name is Matus Valent I am 25 years old, coming from a small but beautiful country Slovakia. Now living in California. I was born in the capital city, Bratislava a popular destination for tourists from all around the world. I came to USA 4 years ago after I finished my education and earned a Master's degree in Physical education and Sport with Management.

Edward: How did you decide to become a model? What do you think about modeling world?

Matus: I did a bit of modeling back in Slovakia, some TV commercials and runway shows, cause people were often complimenting my look so I decide I'll give it a try. Here I would love to continue to work as a runway model (although lots of people or agencies think I'm too big for that, because usually they prefer the 40R guys ). But I still believe for underwear or suits I can be the right one. If not than hopefully succeed in commercial, print or maybe even some movie industry.
I never experienced the real high-end modeling world, but from my castings or auditions memories everyone pretends to be friendly, although it's basically never true cause the competition, especially in LA/Hollywood is enormous and people try to get the one ' dream ' spot at whatever gig is the audition for.

Edward: As a model do you think you have already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for?
Matus: I would love to get on the cover of Fitness RX, but as a real dream or goal is to work for the Top designers like Dolce& Gabbana, Versace, Calvin Klein. and maybe be with Ford agency ( although I'm not really their size type of model ). But most important is to get a great exposure and of course interesting compensation, doesn't matter for who it is.

Edward: I´m sure you might have some interesting/unusual/funny backstages stories to share with us?
Matus: I don't really have many interesting stories, but usually there is a lot of fun backstage at my Fitness model competition which I'm doing for 2 years now. There is always a lot of good looking, ready-to-win guys and it's funny to watch them before the stage entry. I remember last year in Miami one of the guys had like a little bottle of Vodka before the event, cause it is a diurretic and he wanted to be as lean as possible. So it was kinda funny for me.

Edward: You have an incredible look. I am sure you are asked all the time, but how do you stay in such great shape? And what´s the part of your body you like most and why?

Matus: Thank you for the compliments, Yes I try to be in shape as much as possible, I work out mostly 5 times a week for around 2.5 hrs a day. But maybe 3 times a year I take 3 weeks off to give my body a rest and clean my system from all of my supplements I take.

I'm very happy I have a great metabolism so I don't basically do any cardio ( maybe in bedroom, but that doesn't count ), so I can focus better on my lifting ! The best body part I'm most proud of are my pecs followed by abs !!! I work-out my chest 2x a week for about 30 sets each time and tring to get pretty heavy ! With my abs..I do it every day ( 5x a week ).

Edward: How do you rate beauty and elegance in your life? Do you think these attributes really help a person to be well succeded a career?

Matus: Looks play an important role in my life but without great personality noone would care. That's why I try to be as friendly and nice as possible and thanks to the education my parents and schools in Slovakia gave me I think I'm pretty successful with that. And the same is when I choose my partner. It's again not only about the package but mostly what is inside..and once you have a combination of both of these elements you can be successful.

Hello Fans and newcomers to Connex247. It's good to hear we have more and more new viewers visiting the site. I just thought it was time to make sure I give my thanks to all of you. It's the least I can do for all the support you have given me since I came to Connex247 almost a year ago.

Our January 2007 statistics show that it was the best month ever in the history of the site with 4,683,153 hits! And we have plans for 2007 to make sure we keep it interesting so that you will stay with us, and tell your friends to visit us too.

And I will have more information later but very soon I will be doing video blogs and having videos available in the Connex247 store. In fact, the store is about to take off!!!!

There has already been a local person wanting to buy the bike and many others very interested but i wanted to give it a go on Connex247 beforehand because I know you guys will take much better care of it and plus i'd much rather see it in one of your hands :) Below I'm going to list a few things about the bike and the many extras and upgrades this bike features. -Custom Hand painted flames with mother of pearl blue while flames are also mother of pearl light gray = $1400. -Custom leather seat made by one of the best companies fitted to the design and custom flames of the bike = $569 - Cobra straight pipes to give it that deep sound. (i did a charity toy run with 100's of other bikes and everyone loved it and admitted that it sounded better then their Harley's.) = Costing over $750 w/installation - Super custom front and rear blinkers to give it that sleeker look, see in pictures. After all rewiring = $500+ - Entire rear finder shaved of blinkers and brake light.. remolded and fabricated (so the flames couldn't look any better :) = $470 - Chopper style license plate with brake light. (fabricated bracket so no welding was done on bike and added wires and existing one's reran and hidden) = $435
OK so I hope you get the point lol.. I put my heart into this bike and listed a few, NOT ALL! of the things done to it and what it cost me not counting the many things and hours me and my brother did either. Edward: Hello Brandon, let´s start our interview with your personal and professional interests. Tell us: how do you describe yourself.

Brandon: An undercover introvert. I come off very extroverted to people because I am a people person but I certainly know how to let loose. However, I definitely enjoy my time alone. I treat myself to dinner and a movie ALL the time. I MEAN ALL THE TIME. I love being alone. I think maybe because I grew up the only child, I learned how to enjoy and entertain myself with myself. I'm also very spontaneous and love living in the moment. I seem to have adopted this life motto. "I'll try anything 3 maybe 4 times.then one more time just for kicks!"

Edward: Why u have decided to be a model? How this vocation arose? Is it a tough career? What kind of sacrifices this career demands?

Brandon: I never really decided to become a model. I fell into an industry where modeling became a natural progression for me. My dad was a pop singer in the 80's and early 90's, so I think a lot of people assumed I was already working in the industry even when I was 6 years old. Not true though haha. I got my start on a Television show called "Get Real" which was on PBS when I was 8. It was sort of an Access Hollywood for kids. The show did a segment on my Mom one day in Milwaukee and the producer asked me to simply introduce her to the camera. I did, and they called the next day offering me a two year contract. So I genuinely fell into the industry. Then I started doing the catalogue circuit like Kohls, Target, Mervyns and Boston Store. It was great. I was the only 10 year old with a steady paycheck!My career isn't necessarily tough, at least for me. I think it takes a certain kind of person with a certain mindset to exist in this industry, but it is not tough. You have to learn how to cope with unexplained rejection, attitude, jealousy, manipulation and backstabbing. Let it get to you, Deal with it or just brush it off and keep moving. I have a little reminder on my phone to keep my motivated, so everytime I look at my phone screen, it says "Nobody can slow you down." And they haven't, even though many have tried.The only thing that can slow me down is if something happens in the family or I feel that I really need to be home for a specific reason. That's the only sacrifice I see with my career is being away so much. I miss birthdays and some family get togethers despite my best efforts to make it home, and that is the worst for me. I always call, but it is not the same!

Edward: As a model, you have the opportunity to meet such different and cool places. Tell us about a special place u´ve already been. And, did you have any unusual, funny backstage story about it?

Brandon: I've been around the world and back, and I have found that I experience the most culture shock just in different regions of the US. Not Tokyo, Milan, or Paris, but other states in the US. I'm just finishing up my busy season with travel and have been all over the United States in the past month, and everywhere is SO different. I love Texas and the West Coast though. There is always something going on there, and the weather couldn't be more perfect.

Edward: What is your greatest inspiration, your greatest professional dream like a model? Which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers u´d like to work for?

Brandon: I have so many goals and objectives that I sometimes ask myself, "who do you think you are?" Not to sound cliché, but I shoot for the stars. I want to work with the best of the best! I would love to work with photographers like Bruce Weber or Guy Bourdin. I also would love to work with models like Tyson Beckford, Tyra Banks, Brad Kroenig, Brent Zachary, and..JANICE DICKENSON! I think I could handle her!

Edward: How would you rate importance of beauty and elegance in your life? Do u think beauty really helps a person to be well succeeded in a career?

Brandon: That's a good question! It surely has some advantages. I definitely believe that it doesn't hurt for a person to be "beautiful," whether you are a model, a dentist, or a teacher. I do believe however that "your looks" only account for about 10% of a person's success. Even with modeling, I believe it is 10% percent looks and 90% charm, drive, intelligence, elegance, people skills and pure talent. It about knowing how to control this industry before letting it control you. You can't just exist in it or else you end up like Gia. It takes strategy and a plan. That's why its called "BREAKING INTO THE INDUSTRY," because it takes strategy and preparation to intentionally break through. I've always approached my career as a business man first and a model second. If you learn how to run a business you can do anything you want. I actually have a 10 year business plan for my career in modeling typed up, and I have stuck to it. The objective? DOMINATION!!! Watch out Oprah!

Edward: What is your secret to be in a good shape? How is your body training for working with so many things?

Brandon: Swimming! I was a swimmer for 4 years in high school and continue to do it whenever I can now. Fortunately, I am also blessed with extremely good genes. Both of my parents are in the 40's and look mid 20's, my dad doesn't work out at all and still an 8 pack, and my sister just turned 7 and already has a sickening 6-pack. So even though I appear to be healthy on the outside, there was a time when I wasn't. I still looked like I was in great shape, but I was stuffing my body with pizza, cheese, grease, cookies, beef, sugar. I slowly began to cut those things out and replace them with fish, grains, chicken, and lots of greens. I LOOK THE SAME, but I feel 1000% better. Its incredible how what you put in your body can determine how you feel mentally, emotionally, and yes.physically!

Edward: How did u start your own website? What people can find there? We have lots of websites around. Why u think your site is real special?

Brandon: I started my own official website http://www.brandondeshazer.com/ for 2 main reasons, 1. to keep everyone up to date on my projects and stay in touch with the people who support me, and 2. A website makes you instantly accessible around the world. I learned how to build flash sites as I went along, because it is a skill I plan to use and reuse in the future. The site is special for me, because it TRULY is an account from me. My words and my view. Most people have their sites built and so it never is a first hand account. MINE IS, AND I WILL ALWAYS KEEP IT THAT WAY. I like having an outlet to genuinely express my feelings, thoughts, and thanks.

Edward:The entertainment world makes part of your life. So, tell us about your job into the music and movie market.

Brandon: Well music is ingrained in me. Whether I pursue a career in music or not, I will always make music because I grew up with it. I will always make music because it is like breathing to me. A kid can't grow up around Prince, Paula Abdul, and have a father who is a top 40 performer, AND NOT BE OBSESSED WITH MUSIC. As for movies, it is a natural progression for me. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE MOVIES!!! It was only a matter of time before I started to venture into films. More than acting in the film, I love watching the movie get made. Most people would find it boring because it is so long and repetitive, but I am so intrigued by it. Its like organized chaos. Everyone is running around in a hurry like a chicken with its head cut off, but it is extremely organized. I LOVE IT!

Edward: You also have a huge fan base. How do you deal with the fans around the world? What is fame for u?

Brandon: I know everyone says this, but I REALLY do have the best fans. To get emails and mail from people around the world, wishing you the best and wanting the best for you is an incredible feeling. People who don't even know you, and they are rooting for you. INCREDIBLE is the only way I can describe the feeling. I write to my fans through my journal, and also write to them personally if I can. I treat my fans like my friends, because they are. I've even called and chatted with a few of the fans in the past.

Edward: Tell us about your favorite things (movies, actor, actress, music, food, books). What do u do in your free time?

Brandon: OH MAN, movies and music are my favorite! I don't really watch a whole lot of television only because the TV schedule changes from state to state, and I can't keep up, BUT MOVIES & MUSIC??? Love'em! I grew up around music and listening to my Dad on the radio! The entire Minneapolis gang, like Prince, Ms. Jackson (I call her that cuz' I'm nasty), Paula Abdul, Vanity, Jimmy Jam and Terry, Morris Day, etc. so music is just ingrained in me. As for films, they are a quick 2 hour escape from reality. If I need to laugh I pop in Zoolander or anything with Will Ferrel or Jim Carey. If I am frustrated with someone I can always watch "What About Bob," and totally relate to Richard Dreyfus's character. And if I need to cry, I watch "Glitter," with Mariah Carey. JUST PAINFUL FROM START TO FINISH!As for my free time, if I am on the road its all music, movies, and food. If I have an entire day off, I will go check out the local museum or go for a walk around the city. If I am at home, I spend as much time with my family as possible. They are my favorite people in the world so I take every moment I can get.

Edward: Family and friendship: how do think the world is dealing with these two subjects in the society we live?

Brandon: Depend on how much you cherish your family and friends. I think that your family and friends are what help sculpt you into the person that you are. I'm nothing without my family, and wouldn't be where I am now without them. Friends are the same. I cherish my family way to much to ever exist without them. Everything I do, I do for my Mom, and my little sister Ava. EVERYTHING. I think that it is important to have someone to live for and do things for other than yourself. At some point, living for just for you becomes lonely, and you become comfortable with what you've already accomplished and slow down. As long as I have others to live for, I keep my eyes on the prize.

Edward: Do u have any special dream? If u could choose 3 most important things for you life, what would it be?

Edward: Hello Jmiah, welcome to Connex family. Tell us: what are your personal and professional interests?

Jmiah: My professional interests are really derived from my personal interests. I love GOD with a MAD passion... ha ha... and I love people too!! I want to pursue being all I can be in this industry being in the public eye... because to me it's more than just being a pretty face and pretty body... it's about WHO YOU ARE and HOW YOU CAN TOUCH LIVES in society, better mankind, be a positive role model, encouraging people to pursue their dreams, to live with the highest standards you possibly can, and just flat out LOVE GOD with all you have!! I want to LOVE GOD, and LOVE PEOPLE... and show people that no matter what... you can be WHO YOU ARE DESTINED TO BE... just pursue!My professional interests? Well, I have some long term and short term goals. My short term are features in my favorite fitness magazines... being able to use my influence to help the American society better themselves in health, fitness, and nutrition. But not just fitness modeling, I have music all inside of me... acting and it's all just a matter of time before I´m going to the next level. I want everyone who has invested in me, to know they invested in a good market, ya know? Long term goals... well, I want longevity in this career... i don´t want to be a ONE HIT WONDER so to speak. I want to be around for a while and influence as many as I can!

Edward: As a model, actor and fitness trainer, you think u´ve already achieved your main purposes in these areas?

Jmiah: UM... well, as far as the goals I set back in 1999? Yes! But not for the goals I have in 2006... it' s all about pushing yourself to be the BEST you can be, man!! I' m DIABETIC TOO... i want people to know that diabetics aren't limited... man, we can do ANYTHING!!!

Edward: In your opinion, what is the key of the success? What are the upside and downside of a modeling career?

Jmiah: The KEY to success in ANYTHING is simply... PASSION, PERSISTENCE, PEOPLE SKILLS, and... WISDOM!The upside of a modeling career is the sky... there's no limit baby... just gotta have standards! downside? Well... when you don´t get the job you wanted, just get back up and go for the next one... when it's in your heart, you're bound to win!! Just make sure modeling is what you REALLY WANNA DO... if not, dont waste your time. There is so much in life to do... find your purpose and RUN WITH IT!!

Edward: Are you a guy into sports? What´s your secret to be in a good shape? What´s the part of your body you like most and why?

Jmiah: My secret to be in good shape? hmmm.... well, I've learned that CONSISTENCY in working out is the BEST secret of ALL! WHY? because anything worth having in life has a price you gotta pay!My favorite body part? Umm... i dunno... I've been told my eyes are the best! LOL I never really thought of my best... I've always just tried maintaining a balance of them all... my abs are my focus though... they ALWAYS got to look my best, because they are the hardest to display!

Edward: Family and friendship: how do think the world is dealing with these two subjects in the society we live?

Jmiah: I think people need to value and respect one another.

Naturally, I majored in music(theory & composition) while at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota;and graduate studies at the University of Denver and University ofMinnesota.I’ve been to Europe 4 times, up and down both coasts of the US, andto Canada a couple of times too.Minneapolis has been my home for a quarter of a century now. This led into management of“health food” & nutritional supplement stores (hence my nom de plume ofThat Nutrition Guy) and my involvement in bodybuilding (both “working out”and watching the competitions).Backtracking here, I had always been taking “pictures” since about 10onwards; but it was just that. I remember getting notes in thepackages when the photos came back from the developer on howinteresting this or that shot was; but there was really no interest atthat time. I started taking my camera to the competitions andphotographing them (and my friends who were competing in them),more-or-less giving them out to the grateful competitors when theywere developed.Back in the 1990s, I started to self-publish a newsletter/magazinenamed after myself: THAT NUTRITION GUY in which I started to includemy photos from various competitions and of the competitors/friends ofmine there. Soon, I started getting more complements on my photosthan the articles I wrote; but I still didn’t think much about them.Then came the worst year (so far) in my life.With all of the promises being heralded for 2000 ... a new century andall of that, all I saw was death and destruction around me. I lostfamily (father & God-father) & friends (murdered), possessions (due totheft) and pets (2 of my cats) … then the first MuscleMania came totown which turned everything around. I covered the competition (a bitdifficult as I was seated in the back row and had to work my way up tothe side of the stage); and, as usual, gave my photos, when developed,to the competitors I knew along with the promoter.Then came the phone call inviting me to Anaheim, California for the10th Anniversary MuscleMania “Worlds” as a photographer at thecompetition. Need-less-to-say, I jumped on the opportunity. Lookingback, I believe that this is when I first really became aware that Iwas a photographer. Not because I have continued coveringcompetitions; but have expanded into more artistic expressions ofphotography before and ever since then.Seeing myself grow as a photographer … and having more and moremodels wanting to be able to come and work with me because of my“eye” … for my artistic vision … has been an amazing journey. I stillthink of myself as a composer; but now, instead of sound, pitch, andinstrumental “color” , I’m doing it with (human) form, light, andshadow.

2. Do you think that digital era really helped the photographersconcerning aspects like quality and tecnology? In your opinion what werethe most remarkable achievments in photography in the last decade?Interesting question as I started out as a film photographer. I suppose Iwas even a bit of a purist resisting digital photography at first. Ilearned my art on film so I stood by it for a very long time; but in theend, had to move to digital due to film and development costs … which havebeen skyrocketing and even (with film) being discontinued in the US andelsewhere. I don’t think that film is ‘dead” (I still shoot film alongwith digital at competitions …using the film for close-ups and such). It’slike they still make vinyl (records) and Beta video tape so film won’tdisappear. There’ll always be someone working with film.

3. What do you look most when selecting models to shoot?The eyes are the window to the soul.  Well, I’m a bodybuilding andmale physique photographer so a fantastic physique is a major, a greatpriority; but I’m attracted to beautiful eyes so I’d say, for me, that’sthe main thing that I look for ... beautiful, expressive eyes. I thinkthat you can see that in most of my work.

4. You seem to have helped a number of models with their careers. What doyou really feel about that?Hmmmm? I suppose I “feel” a bit like a proud parent watching their childbecome happy and successful in their chosen field of interest & work. WhatI “think” is that a model should work with as many photographers aspossible, … not thinking of monetary gains as the main motive; but to getthe experience and feel for the various styles that this photographer orthat photographer has. A model should be thinking of getting as muchexposure (no pun intended) as possible to get his face & physique outtheir.

5. What advice would you give to models and to the aspiring ones?Like I said before, get as much exposure as possible. BUT, be sure of whatyou’re getting into. Do some research into the photographer to make surethat you’re not getting into something that will come back and bite you.(I’ve had two guys that went to work with “supposedly” good photographersthat contacted them … only to have their photos appear on porn and/orescort sites).I’m thankful for having a very wide circle of friends andacquaintances in this biz that I can recommend my guys to in orderto try to prevent thinks like this happening. But, there’s alwaysthat model that gets swept off of his feet with promises of grandeurthat go to his head ... and leads into a bad situation.

6. There must be special moments when you feel that you have captured aperfect picture... Share this passion with us. How does this specialmoment happen?Wow! How to answer this one? It just sort-of happens when both the modeland I “click’ at the same time during a shoot. I have this phrase that Iuse “mental orgasm” when I get this high from the creative process and themodel is right their experiencing the same thing from the shoot. It’s likewe’re having great sex together ... the same feeling … only from thecreative process of the shoot. We both know that we’re doing better thanaverage stuff and feeding off of each other’s energies creating a sumthat’s greater than the whole. Both of our creative juices are spurting atthe same moment; and from out of that come one or more fantastic shots.That does sound like good sex, doesn’t it? 7. If you could select 5 fantastic places around the world for a shooting,which ones you´d choose and why?Hmm, this sounds like you want me to become a landscape photographerinstead of a physique photographer. The model would become part ofthe landscape in a shoot of this sort. What would be more fantastical,the model or location?Well, one of the places in Minneapolis that I like to shoot at is theWalker Art Center’s Sculpture Garden/Park. There are a couple ofsculptures that remind me of ancient Greek & Roman architecture that Ilove to shoot around/on. So I think that a shoot at the Acropolis inGreece would be one place. The islands in the Aegean would also benice.Because of my family background, it would be fun to grab a few modelsand fly off to Norway and shoot in the mountains and fjords therealong the coast. Sorry, no “land of the midnight sun” shoot.I worked with one of my guys (Jeffrey Beck) at Minnehaha Falls inMinneapolis (taking one of my most beautiful photos of him) so Isuppose that Niagara Falls or Victoria Falls in Africa would be afantastic backdrop for a photo shoot.Anywhere warm with low humidity I like, so possibly Hawaii. I’ve neverbeen there so it would be a discovery for both me and the models onlocations there. (Inside an active volcano is out of the question).Does cyberspace or outer space count as a location “around theworld”? I suppose that photo editing on a computer already counts ascyberspace; but to shoot on the space station, the weightlessnessplane that NASA has ... the vomit comet … would be an experience forboth me and the model to shoot in. So I guess that that would have tobe included as a fantastic place to shoot

8. How was 2006 for you and what are your expectations for 2007?2006 was my busiest and most productive year-to-date. In fact, I’m stilltrying to finish up all of my shoots that I did. I discovered several newguys and worked with some of my favorite bodybuilder/models. I got astudio space to work in (which I share with 2 painters of local andnational renown)… which has expanded my abilities; and discovered anotheroutdoor location in which to work at. I now have exposure on MODEL MAYHEMwhich has bringing a lot of responses for guys wanting to work with me;and Mike Downs (of Z productions / AllAmericanGuys.com) got a photography“showcase’ webpage started up on me (something that had been promised forover 4 years now).For 2007, I hope to be working with several of my new discoveries(from around the world) that I met at the FITNESS HOLLYWOOD lastNovember and through MODEL MAYHEM; and to have, at least, three of myguys finally make it to Minneapolis for work in the studio space(which I’ve worked previously with only in outdoor locations or inother cities in the US. I’m also hoping to see more of my workspublished, set up in an art show or two; and, naturally, see a littlebit more of the “green stuff” come my way to continue variousprojects and work .9. I lost family (father & God-father) & friends (murdered), possessions (due to theft) and pets (2 of my cats) … then the first MuscleMania came to town which turned everything around. I covered the competition (a bit difficult as I was seated in the back row and had to work my way up to the side of the stage); and, as usual, gave my photos, when developed, to the competitors I knew along with the promoter.
Then came the phone call inviting me to Anaheim, California for the 10th Anniversary MuscleMania “Worlds” as a photographer at the competition. Need-less-to-say, I jumped on the opportunity. Looking back, I believe that this is when I first really became aware that I was a photographer. Not because I have continued covering competitions; but have expanded into more artistic expressions of photography before and ever since then.

Seeing myself grow as a photographer … and having more and more models wanting to be able to come and work with me because of my “eye” … for my artistic vision … has been an amazing journey. I still think of myself as a composer; but now, instead of sound, pitch, and instrumental “color” , I’m doing it with (human) form, light, and shadow.

Edward: Do you think that digital era really helped the photographers concerning aspects like quality and tecnology? In your opinion what were the most remarkable achievments in photography in the last decade?

Norman: Interesting question as I started out as a film photographer. I suppose I was even a bit of a purist resisting digital photography at first. I learned my art on film so I stood by it for a very long time; but in the end, had to move to digital due to film and development costs … which have been skyrocketing and even (with film) being discontinued in the US and elsewhere. I don’t think that film is ‘dead” (I still shoot film along with digital at competitions …using the film for close-ups and such). It’s like they still make vinyl (records) and Beta video tape so film won’t disappear. There’ll always be someone working with film.

Edward: What do you look most when selecting models to shoot?

Myles Hannaman from a town without a stop light to fame as a model

Myles Hannaman may have grown up in a town without a stop light but it hasn't prevented him from launching a successful career as a model which he combines for the moment with his college studies. In high school Myles was an all round athlete with a special love for wrestling, with various titles to his credit, including three times a state champion.
At college, encouraged by friends, Myles entered the Musclemania Superbody competition in Florida, was discovered, and the rest is history. Here is more of his story:
Michael: Share some of your background with us Myles.
Myles: I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and grew up in a little town known as Pride, Louisiana about thirty minutes away. To give you a little more information on Pride, it doesn't even have a stop light, just stop signs. I went to Catholic schools my whole life and was always athletic and very competitive.
I attended high school at Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge, where I played baseball, football, weightlifting, track, and the sport I love, wrestling. Wrestling was the only sport I participated in all four years of high school. I was a three time state champion, two time city champion, all-metro, all-state, caption, and most valuable wrestler. I set many school records at Redemptorist and intended to wrestler in college, but due to a knee surgery I sat out a year for recuperation.
I went to Southeastern Louisiana University and started working out hard in their facility. A couple of bodybuilders saw me and told me I should compete in all natural bodybuilding competitions.
